Waxing & Shaving
Complete any waxing or shaving at least 48 hours prior to your tan.
Use a razor without a moisture strip, as those can leave a film that blocks even color development.
Exfoliation
Skip oil-based scrubs or loofahs; they often leave residue.
Instead, use an exfoliating mitt to gently remove dry skin and create a smooth base for your tan.
Schedule Other Services First
Your spray tan should be the final step in your beauty routine.
Book facials, massages, and other spa services the day before, as their products can leave barriers on your skin.
Day-of Prep
Arrive with clean, dry skin, free from lotions, oils, deodorant, and perfume.
If you recently used deodorant, wipe underarms before your session to remove residue.
Shower Smart
Avoid bar soaps or creamy washes (especially Dove) that leave a coating on your skin.
Use a gel-based body wash instead.
Shower at least 4 hours before your appointment to let your skin’s pH rebalance.
If you need to shower closer to your appointment, finish with a cool rinse to help close pores.
Hydrate Your Skin
In the days leading up to your appointment, drink plenty of water and lightly moisturize (just not on tan day).
Hydrated skin absorbs solution more evenly and fades beautifully.
Nails & Pedicures
Complete manicures and pedicures the day before your tan.
If done the same day, skip oils and lotions.
Doing nails afterward can cause uneven fading due to soaking, acetone, and other products.
What to Wear
Choose dark, loose-fitting clothing and open-toe sandals.
The bronzer may lightly transfer to fabrics, but it’s water-soluble and washes out easily.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do. Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
